How Long Does It Take
Emergency Airlifts
The process in an emergency does not really change much from our normal gathering of information. We just put more people on the specific transport to get it moving much quicker. We can generally, depending on where in the world be wheels up within 4 to 6 hours from the time payment is received. If the patient is abroad it is usually best to get them stablelized before transport. There are some places in the world where this is not possible and we move at a moments notice.
Scheduled Airlift
This is actually the most common type of airlift. Most injured patients are brought to a local facility where they are cared for and the Doctors then decide the level of care that is needed at a different facility or in a different country. Insurance may also play a factor in this. If a patient only has insurance in there home country then the family generally wants them home as quick as allowed by the physician.
